Dissidia 012 Among Default Downloadable PSP Titles for PS Vita

I’m back, people! It’s been months since we’ve gotten any updates! I have one for you today that I am sure some of you will be quite happy with.

The launch of the PSP’s successor, the PlayStation Vita, is just around the corner, and there are going to be over 200 PSP Titles ready to be downloaded and used via the system’s “PSP Emulator”, which is similar to how the PSP plays PS1 Classics.

PlayStation Blog

Among these titles are, of course, everyone’s favorite RPG/Fighter franchise, Dissidia! Included in the list isn’t just Dissidia 012, though. They’ve done much more than that. As far as Dissidia goes, the following downloadable PSP Dissidia games will function on the system:

-Dissidia: Final Fantasy
-Dissidia 012: Prologus Final Fantasy
-Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy

All three of these games (Though Prologus is sorta like a “Pre-release Game”) will be available for download for the PS Vita from Day 1! Rejoice, Dissidia and Final Fantasy fans.

If you FF fans also would like to know, Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection and Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions are also on that list.

Let’s hope the news will keep coming in. I’ll be watching, and I hope you will, too!

  1. Regarding news, what ever happened to Dissidia 012 DLC? It’s like SE just gave up on it (I swore there was going to be a XIII-2 skin for lightning). NA still doesn’t have Squall’s “Leon” skin up for download, either.

    • A good question! Square Enix never released anything official, but last I heard, the Gilgamesh Type-0 costume was only available in Japan, to Square Enix Members over there. With a localization of Type-0 coming, it is possible for us to get a code with that game for the costume.

However, with it have been so long with absolutely nothing, I would say DLC is probably over, unless they decide to do something next month, for the game’s 1 year Anniversary.

      • I’m honestly shocked that SE gave up on Dissidia 012 costume DLC; with The Third Birthday and The FFIV: Complete Collection setting an example, it seemed like DDFF was their ticket to pre-order incentive costumes and therefore, increased sales. To be honest, I’d be satisfied with just Squall’s “Leon” costume being released on the NA PSN as paid DLC – I’d buy it on the spot. Maybe if the type-0 Gilgamesh costume is released as a pre-order incentive, SE might release “Leon” on the PSN as well?

Though I know it will never happen…a XIII-2-style Lightning outfit would have been completely awesome.

  2. I hear you, Shirokan. If any of the promotional DLC’s, or just new DLC’s in general hit PSN, I’d grab them on the spot. It’s a shame they didn’t give everyone at least one DLC costume. They could’ve done a lot more with it. I mean…we got Music Packs for each main game, so why not Costumes for every character?
